Network-Scanner Privacy Policy
Network Scanner by Media Ingenious

This policy explains how the Network Scanner app (“the app”), published by Media Ingenious (“we”, “us”), handles information. In short: the app does not collect, store on our servers, or share any personal information. Everything it discovers stays on your device.
What the app does
The app scans the Wi-Fi or Ethernet network your device is connected to and lists the devices it finds, with their IP addresses, names, device types and announced services, and can scan each device’s open ports.
Information processed on your device
To do this, the app reads and generates the following only on your device:
- Your device’s network details: its IP address, the network’s gateway (router) address and DNS servers, and your device’s name from Android settings.
- Information about other devices on the same local network, gathered by contacting them directly: whether they respond, which common network ports are open, and the names and services they announce (via DNS, mDNS/Bonjour, NetBIOS and UPnP).
This information is shown in the app and is not sent to Media Ingenious or any third party. Scan results are kept in memory while the app is open and are not saved. The app stores only your display preferences (such as list grouping and filters) and whether you have an active subscription on your device. To time the free trial, the app reads the date it was installed from Android on your device; this date is not sent anywhere.
Network requests
All scanning traffic stays on your local network. Name lookups are sent to your own router or local DNS server. The app does not contact any Media Ingenious server.
If you tap “Open in browser” for a device, or the link to our website, the page opens in your web browser, which is subject to that browser’s and that website’s own privacy policies.
Subscriptions and payments
Every feature of the app is free for 3 days after you first install it. After the free trial ends, a Premium subscription is required to keep using the app. Premium is a yearly subscription sold through Google Play. Payments, billing details and subscription management are handled entirely by Google; we never receive your payment information. The app asks Google Play only whether your Google account has an active subscription. Google’s handling of this information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and does not use any third-party SDK that collects personal data.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: needed to scan your local network and to check your subscription with Google Play.
Data sharing and retention
We do not collect personal data, so we do not sell, share or retain it.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Use responsibly
Only scan networks you own or have permission to examine.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at this address.
